Management and staff at S & S decided that this year in lieu of Christmas gifts for our clients that we would support Temple Street Christmas Toy Appeal. Alan (MD at S & S) dropped off bags of new toys for all ages to the front door of the Hospital on Friday the 11th of December and was greeted by the infamous JD (Porter at the Hospital) for the handover.

This Christmas will be a little different for everyone this year. With new government guidelines it is hard to plan and prepare for what will be a hard Christmas for everyone, especially for our patients who will spend this Christmas in hospital. Our patients and their families are in great need of your help right now. Your donation to our toy appeal this year will make a huge difference to our hospital and bring smiles to sick children this Christmas.

Santa never forgets any child in CHI at Temple Street. He knows the names of all the children who will have the hospital as their home this Christmas. He’ll make sure their presents get delivered to the right bed in Temple Street, but sometimes even Santa needs a little help!

By physically donating toys or making monetary donations to our play department are simple ways for you to make a real difference to the lives of our sick patients who will have to spend the Christmas period in the hospital, instead of at home with their families. This year we understand that going out to physically buy toys is a little bit more difficult than last year. Below are just some ways in which you can support us this Christmas –

  • You can physically donate toys to Temple Street by dropping them off to our hospital
  • Make a donation to our play department and help us to provide our patients with toys, activities and events throughout the year
  • Support us by purchasing vouchers for our patients such as Penny’s, Smyth’s & One4All vouchers
  • Or make a half & half donation – due to current restrictions it may be easier for your company or community to make a smaller toy donation than usual and make a donation to the play department

Getting involved in this year’s Christmas Toy Appeal, means you will help make a child’s Christmas a happy one. We have included a list below of the toys that are on our patient’s wish lists. We care for children from their first day in this world, right up to the eve of their 16th birthday. Our wish is that every child gets a toy that they will love and cherish this Christmas.
