Blue Finn is the ultimate circular chair… from medical waste to seating for medical practices.

The Blue Finn story – seating made from medical waste

Bluewrap is used to keep surgical instruments sterile. Despite being essential, bluewrap is single use and made up of plastic particles. Once used, it’s discarded, cumulating into thousands of Kilos of waste every year.  Hospitals have become more conscious of this problem and are now collaborating with specialist recycling waste collectors.

Creating sustainable solutions from bluewrap is an extremely intensive process but in short, bluewrap material is washed, tapes removed, agglomerated and upcycled into plastic pellets, ready for injection moulding into chair seats and backs.

At the end of its life, Blue Finn furniture can be dismantled, broken down and re-made into a new Vepa chair. Even the metal legs are made from recycled metal and can be recycled again and again.
